9 + 1 ??

mmm … 10 madam !

That's it The North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® takes place on 2 legs, which is the minimum, after all, for a running race!
During the last 9 years, we have, together, experienced many things (from sun to storms, laughter to tears, suffering to ecstasy) passing through the full range of emotions.
But we still have to live through this event – each year's event being different from one year to another but we find ourselves, each year always with the same enthusiasm, and the same will to offer you the most beautiful of challenges, impatient to see the month of August arrive.
The 2012 event will naturally contain its packet of surprises: those that we will have prepared for you to mark the 10th year of the event; and maybe those that Mother Nature (who has become these last years a real co-organizer, or disorganiser according to point of view and experience) will have reserved for us. A 10th event which will thus have a particular flavour but the principle of which always stays the same and unites all the participants: make the tour or semi-tour of the roof of Europe!

1 event – 4 races

The North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®, un an event wich offers you 4 characteristic races during the last week of august.

UTMB® - [Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®] the original and queen of the races

Since the first year, it has been called “the race of all the superlatives” A complete tour of the Mont Blanc Massif, passing through 3 countries: France, Switzerland and Italy, the race that every runner should finish at least once in their life.

Le tour of Mont-Blanc, starting from Chamonix, with 166km, 9,500 metres of positive height gain, and in semi autonomy.

Friday, August 31th 2012 at 18:30.

CCC® - [Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix] - the way in

Created in 2006, it has become as popular as its big sister (45 nationalities represented in 2010). The CCC® is considered by many runners to be « the little one » nevertheless it too, constitutes one of the most difficult challenges in ultra - trail. Do not take the CCC® lightly; more than one runner has "burned" their thighs there.

A semi-tour of Mont-Blanc, starting from Courmayeur with 98km, 5,600 metres of positive height gain and in semi-autonomy.

1 qualification point.

TDS [sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie] - the wild alternative

Wilder and more technical than the UTMB® and the CCC®, in the heart of the Aosta valley and the two Savoie. This demanding race offers a new vision to the tour of Mont Blanc and the Beaufortain countryside, allowing the discovery of the col de la Youlaz (2661m) above Courmayeur, the "passage du Curé" or the sublime view of the massif of Mont Blanc from the col de la Gitte in the heart of Beaufortain.

A semi-tour of Mont-Blanc starting from Courmayeur with 110km, 7,100 metres of positive height gain and in semi-autonomy.

Thursday August 30th in the morning.

- maximum race time : 31 hours
- estimated time for the first finishers is 14 hours

PTL - [la Petite Trotte à Léon] - A great team adventure

A hallucinatory and non competitive event! A "grand" tour of Mont Blanc adding high passes, often higher than 2,500 metres and with some delicate passages. If you like solitude, solidarity and total adventure, that is the reason for trying it once.

An event without final positions and in complete autonomy, to be realised by teams of 3 (or 2) inseparable runners.
- the route is different each year, not way marked but simply mapped (GPS waypoints are provided)
- around 300km and 22,000 metres of positive height gain

- Start from Chamonix
Monday August 27nd 2011 at 22:00

Race bibs and solidarity

For the second year, The organisation support associations by setting aside 50 bibs (with a limit of a maximum of 50 places) to any runner who, directly or through a donor of his choice, donates 2000 € to one of the associations which we support.

The process will be as follows:

The donor will pay the chosen association 2000€ to reserve a place in the race of his/her choice and will send to info@ultratrailmb.com the address and phone number of the runner, the chosen race, and the association that we support.
The charitable association will inform the Ultra-Trail by mail of the donation given and the runner’s name and date of birth.
The runner may then join his chosen race, so long as he has the necessary qualifying points.

The donations must be given by June 30th, 2012 at the latest.
